 Brief History
U.S. Outdoor is a privately owned billboard company based out of
Laurel
,
Mississippi
. The business was formed in 1985, and currently operates in 30 states. The venture began into the outdoor advertising industry as a billboard locator for Pilot Oil Corporation. Pilot, which operates large fuel centers, was in a rapid expansion program. This created their need for outdoor advertising in many states, which in turn gave me the opportunity to find it for them. This opportunity became the creation of U.S. Outdoor. Sites were procured to erect billboard structures by traveling up and down the interstate looking for properties that would qualify. After finding potential sites, local and state laws were researched in towns and cities. The proper officials were met to locate qualifying property owners to erect these billboard structures.
In the early 1990’s, Busby Outdoor, LLC was formed. Its primary goal was to become one of the largest full service sign companies in all 50 states.
